Alison Hates Ring-Dips

Wednesday, 18 March

Taking today off to wander around the National Mall, taking pictures of it with "Flat Stanley." This is good for several reasons: one, I love taking photos of DC, and two, my arms are tired. Back at it tomorrow.

Tuesday, 17 March--Happy Saint Patrick's Day

WOD:

5 Rounds for time:

400m Run
10 Ring-dips
15 Burpees

I was very tired today, but did my best. Finished the entire workout in 22:43. I did modified Ring-dips. They hurt my back so much but I can't seem to do true Ring-dips yet. I am, however, able to hold myself up on the rings for the first time ever. The run was fine. I got beeped at by some boys, so...I guess that was cool. Burpees were...burpees. Not the best workout ever, but I did it.

Alison Should Quit her Job and Wait Tables

WOD:

Pull-up Ladder:
5 x (1,2,3)

5 minute rest

5 Rounds for Time:

30 Push-ups
Waiter Walk
30 Squats

Freakin' Pull-ups again. I tried to do them without any band. I can get over the bar if I don't start from a dead hang, but...it is still pathetic. I did the ladder alternating with the blue band and the brown band. I am so frustrated that I can't get the stupid Pull-ups. It makes me ANGRY!

The rest of the WOD was awesome. I did true Push-ups for the first round for all 30 of them and felt pretty good about it. Finished the other rounds with modified ones. I did the Waiter Walk with a 35lb dumbbell. I did it with both arms. I was worried about my left arm because it is spastic, but I was able to control it. I did all 5 rounds at that weight. Air squats=active rest for me. That is the only good thing about being blessed with man legs. Finished in 15:07.

After that we did abs. 3 rounds of 20 crunches/20 obliques (each side)/ 20 back extensions. Love it.

Yoga Sundays

I went to yoga today at LuLuLemon in Tyson's Mall. They have free hour-long yoga sessions on Sunday mornings. I started going because my friend from the gym talked me into it and I kept going because nothing really feels as good as stretching out the sore muscles from the week. Every month, LuLuLemon features a local yoga studio and this month it is McLean Power Yoga. The instructor, Cassandra, is great and her workouts are challenging. I can't get Dan to go with me but I don't care. I feel better afterward and I am ready for a new week of CrossFit.

I am going to relax now. And by relax, I mean catch up on chores. Neat!
