I am going to start off by saying I didn't like yesterday's WOD at all. I find trying to balance barbells very difficult and frustrating. Also, it is 9 million degrees with 100% humidity, which makes the barbells slip through my hands. I had chalk everywhere.

Tuesday, 30 June

WOD: 2 Rounds of:

Right arm barbell Push-Press 12 reps
Left arm Deadlift 12 reps
Run 800m
Left arm barbell Push-Press 12 reps
Right arm Deadlift 12 reps
Run 800m

I used a 35lb barbell for the Push-Presses and 75lbs for the Deadlifts. My left arm is still not as strong as my right arm (well, either that or I majorly lack coordination with lefty. It is probably a combination of both), so even with the 35lb bar, I struggled. The one arm Deadlift is an awkward movement but was easier for me that the PP. Running was not a big deal. I don't know what my time was other than slow.

Yesterday's WOD was not a good one for me though it is one of my favorite workouts. For whatever reason, I did not feel very well after the first sprint. I don't know why. Nothing was different that usual. However, it resulted in a less than stellar performance and rather nasty headache afterwards.

Monday, 29 June

WOD: 4 Rounds for Time of:

10 Burpees
50m Sprint
10 Squats
50m Sprint
10 Tricep Push-Ups
50m Sprint
10 Tuck Jumps
50m Sprint
10 Plyo Push-Ups
50m Sprint
10 Jump Squats
50m Sprint

I did modified Tricep and Plyo Push-Ups, although I can't decide which is harder, modified or true Plyo Push-Ups. Everything else went as well as possible. I finished in 25:19. Not the best time but I still finished it.

Hopefully today goes a little better.

Fight Gone Bad

Saturday was a busy day. I started it out right, however, by dragging Dan's younger brother to his very first ever CrossFit workout and of course we did Fight Gone Bad. Duh!

Saturday, 27 June

WOD: Fight Gone Bad

3 Rounds:

Wall Balls
Box Jumps
Push Press

1 minute of each movement with a minute rest in between rounds.

I have not done FGB in months, so I wasn't sure how I would do. I used the 10lb ball for Wall Balls, 24kg (which, I was told, as I can't do math in my head, that it is about 50lbs maybe) KettleBell for SDLHP, the 24 inch box for Box Jumps, and a 45lb bar for Push Press. Minus the Wall Ball, the weights are significantly heavier than my previous bout. Last time I only used a 20lb KettleBell for the SDLH and 35lbs for Push Press. I did well, I thought, but definitely struggled the last round. I had a very encouraging partner, though, so that was helpful. My final score was 230.

I honestly thought Dan's bro was going to die. He is never going to come visit us again...

Sunday was a rest day. I can tell I am getting better at CrossFit because most of the time I can move more easily on my rest days than previously and I rarely look like a mummy trying to walk around. Ha!
